My First Race!!

I finally got to race my sprint car!  The first thing that needs to be said is -Thank You for everything, Pat Moore.

It was a little harder than I thought it would be. In the heat it was a little unnerving the way the back end wiggles back and forth in the corners It was still really cool though.  I finished Fifth in the heat. You will never appreciate the ability to move your head back and forth more than when you no longer have it.   On like the second or third lap the girl in front of me hit the wall coming out of turn four.   I saw her car start to climb the wall before I passed her , than the red flag came out.  I came to a stop in the middle of turn two.  My head and neck restraint system, the R3, prevents my head from looking to the left or right.  So I was sitting in the corner and I couldn't look around to see what was happening.  She was okay.

When we got started again the rest of the field took off.   I really hope that it doesn't take too long for me to be able to keep up with those guys.  I mostly stayed down on the bottom of the track.  So good news I got thru my first race weekend in one piece and finished sixth.   After the race at the scale the track people all congratulated me on finishing my first feature.   So all in all a great first week and we are all looking forward to next weekend.
